Church #nofilter 6.1
Pray and read
Praise God for making himself known to us by his Son. Ask him to give you eyes that see, and a heart which responds with faith and thanksgiving.
We’ll focus in on the parts of this chapter over the week, so today let’s just consider the bigger picture:
In chapter 4, Paul focuses in on how the Corinthians should think about and relate themselves to him and the other apostles. How does this flow out of the images of the church he presented in chapter 3?
How does Paul contrast the Corinthians (or at least their self assessment) with himself and his apostolic band?
How do you think Paul’s relationship with the church is going in his absence?
What do you think “successful” Christian leadership looks like? Is it anything like how Paul describes himself?
Pray for the leaders of our church — for the staff team, the elders and the Committee of Management for our Network. Pray that they will be found to be faithful servants and stewards of the responsibilities entrusted to them!
