Acts: Week 3 Day 2

Pray and read

Praise God that he is at work in the world bringing about his good plans and purposes, especially in the growth of his kingdom. Ask him to help you know him better, that you might grow in loyalty to him as your king. Read Acts 10.

Who are the main characters in chapter 10?

What happens? What do you make of the ‘extraordinary’ acts of God in this story?

In what way does Peter change his mind in this passage?

What do you notice about Peter’s explanation of the gospel (vv34-43)? How does it compare to earlier explanations of the gospel in Acts?

What happens when Peter preaches the gospel? Why are his companions astonished? How does what happens confirm Peter’s earlier change of mind?

If you’re a Gentile believer, how might this passage inform how you understand your place in the people of God?

Whether a Jewish or Gentile believer, how might this passage inform your evangelism – With regard to whom you have concern for? With regard to what you might tell them, given the opportunity?

Thank God that his salvation extends to every nation, including us. Ask him to keep equipping you as you participate in taking the good news of salvation in Jesus to those who don’t yet know him, in whatever shape that takes.
