Acts: Week 2 Day 4
Pray and read
Praise God for making himself known to us by his Son. Ask him to give you eyes that see, and a heart which responds with faith and thanksgiving.
How does Luke describe this man from Ethiopia? Where was he going?
What do you think Philip was thinking when he ran up to this obviously important man?
How would describe the Eunuch’s attitude?
What is striking about the description of the person in the passage? Why do you think the Eunuch decided this was someone worth devoting his life to?
Apply and pray
The good news of Jesus is starting to spread further than just Jerusalem and Samaria. Now people from distant lands are starting to hear about Jesus and the way of salvation. This was always God’s plan and continues to be worked out in the world today.
God is gracious enough to include us in his work of salvation. Brave and courageous men and women continue spread the gospel all over the world to often difficult and dangerous places. This wouldn’t be possible without the prayerful and financial support of local churches so please don’t discount your role if you are not one of these ‘brave and courageous’ people.
Take some time now to pray for someone you know working in a difficult or dangerous place. Here some people that Providence supports:
Dan and Katie Patterson
Jill – Middle East
Tim and Jane Letcher – Central Australia
Ask God to encourage them in their work and provide for their various needs
Pray that God would raise up more workers to help reach the world with the Gospel
Think and pray about ways you can support the spread of the Gospel.
