Truth to Power: Hosea Day 4

Pray and read

Commit this time to the Lord. Ask him for a mind to understand his word and a heart that’s willing to respond to it. Read: Hosea 14.

Despite Israel’s continued idolatry, God is still willing to forgive them if they repent. Here we read Hosea’s plea for the nation to grasp God’s promise of faithfulness, healing and hope.

Look out for these three things and write them down:

A light bulb: This should be something that ‘shines’ from the passage—whatever impacts most, or draws attention.

A question mark: Anything that is difficult to understand in the text, or a question the reader would like to ask the writer of the passage or the Lord. Maybe it’s something you can ask your Growth Group or a friend.

An arrow: A personal application for your life. Why does this passage matter to you now?

Pray through the application, asking for help as you apply it to your life and live it out in a response to God’s grace.
