Romans Week 6: Day 3
Pray and read
Praise God for revealing himself by his word, and ask him to help you hear and respond to it with repentance and faith by his Spirit at work in you. Read Romans 14:13-23
Having urges the Romans to stop judging one another, what attitude does he commend to them instead? What reasons does he give for adopting this attitude?
How might the wider context of Romans (esp from chapter 12) help explain the attitude Paul urges them to have toward one another?
What do you think verse 23 means?
Are there any ways in which you are putting a stumbling block in front of a brother or sister? What would it look like for you to remove it?
Do you make every effort to do what leads to peace and mutual edification with your brothers and sisters (e.g. in your Growth Group)? How might you pursue these things?
Thank God for the family of believers into which he has called us in his Son.
Ask God to reveal any stumbling blocks you might be setting before others, and the willingness to remove them.
Ask God to help you pursue peace with your brothers and sisters, and the desire to build others up in the faith in all things.
