Which disputable matter is Paul considering in this passage? What might be other disputable matters, in our context?

What is the error of the one whose faith is ‘strong?’ What is the error of the one whose faith is weak? What reasons does Paul give for his rebuke? (vv3-4, 10-12)

Apply

Are there disputable matters for which you have a weak conscience? Do you judge those who exercise more freedom than you? How might you hold your conviction ‘as to the Lord?’

Are there disputable matters for which your brother or sister has a weaker conscience than you? Do you condemn them? How might you hold your conviction ‘as to the Lord?’

Pray

Praise God that Christ died and rose to life that we might live for him!

Ask God to help you hold your convictions regarding disputable things ‘as to the Lord.’
