Romans Week 2: Day 2
Read: Romans 1:1-6
The topic of these opening verses is the gospel of God. What specific things does Paul highlight about the gospel? Who is the gospel about? Who is it for?
What do we learn about ‘the Son’ in these verses?
What is Paul’s ultimate purpose in calling the gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith? (verse 5)
There is an interplay between faith and obedience in these verses. How have you been challenged to obey Christ in your life? Are there areas you need to submit to his lordship?
What possible motivations can we have for sharing the gospel? Paul wants to call the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for the sake of Jesus’ name; for his glory. Do you desire to see Christ’s name glorified in this way?
Thank God that the gospel of his son is for all who believe. Pray for people groups who have not yet received the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Ask that the name of Jesus would be glorified in Perth and wider Australia as people are called to the obedience that comes from faith.
