Romans Week 16: Day 1

Read: Romans 8:31-39 focusing on verses 31-32

Reflect on Paul’s questions in this passage:

If God is for us, who can be against us? Which person or group of people might you be tempted to believe is stronger than God?

If God is for us, who can be against us? You may have many people, or circumstances that immediately come to mind when you ask yourself this question. But none of those people can measure up to God. And if the one true God of the universe is working all things for the good of those he loves (Rom 8:28) and has already given us his most precious Son, then nobody can truly harm us.

When do I find it hard to believe that God is for me?

How can I be confident that God is for me? How is this still true even when I might experience suffering?

Thankfulness that God has provided Jesus so that we can be completely confident that we are his very own.

Pray for those things or situations with people that discourage you. Pray that your confidence in your position with God would match the truth of this passage.
