Week 2: Day 3

Read: 1 Samuel 3:1-10

How does the writer set the scene for this narrative (v.1)?  Why do you think this detail is important?

How does Samuel react and why?

Throughout the bible God speaks to his people in a variety of ways:  through the prophets, through dreams and visions, even directly like he has to Samuel.  God still speaks to his people today, sometimes by dreams, visions and an audible voice but always through the bible, his recorded word.  In the bible we find the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), which outline the life and work of God’s word personified in his son Jesus.  Through his word God calls his people back to himself and shows them how to live.

How do you react when God speaks to you?

Who first shared God’s word with you?  Can you share it with someone this week?

·         Praise God for His faithful and enduring word in which He is revealed as perfectly just and perfectly merciful

·         Ask God that His spirit will reveal His word to you and you’ll have opportunities to share it with others
