We give thanks to God that Providence has been sustained by his hand.
As a church we long to see the city of Perth transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. We seek to live as communities of light, small outposts of Jesus' kingdom. This is the foundation for the decisions we make about how to use the resources that are enrusted to us as a church
The 2015 Providence Church budget has three key components: staff, ministry infrastructure and growth projects. The single largest component of the budget is the employment of staff -Rory, Steve, Damon, Amy, Jon, Robbie and Deb. We understand that the role of the staff is to equip the saints for works of ministry. That is, their job is not to do the ministry but to equip us all in doing the ministry, so that the body of Christ can be built up (Ephesians 4:12). We are working on improving our structures and processes so that this is increasingly the reality.
In total, 10% of the Providence budget is set aside for supporting the spread of the gospel, both overseas - through long term mission work - and locally through the planting of new churches. This concrete investment on gospel mission reflects our commitment to look outside of ourselves and our own needs to what God is doing all around this city and his world.
As we move forward in 2016, we will be putting into practice our philosophy of ministry in light of Jesus: gospel telling, gospel community and gospel deeds. We are pursuing ways to make it easier for the people of Perth to meet Jesus, and easier for the people of Providence to serve him with the gifts they have been given. We live in hope and expectation that God will fulfil our every good purpose promoted by faith (2 Thessalonians 1:11).
As we do this it is our prayer that God will be at work to multiply disciples, multiply mature leaders and multiply churches. In short, to build his church. Please pray with us to that end.
